LANSING (WKZO) — Continuing his push to expand Medicaid eligibility, Republican Gov. Rick Snyder will be hosting a “Healthy Michigan Conversation” via Google+ Hangouts with citizens across Michigan.
The event will be broadcast from the George W. Romney Building in the governor’s press auditorium starting at 6:30 p.m. The LIVE chat will involve a question and answer period for viewers via Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #askgov.
Snyder’s live chat follows meetings earlier Monday with Metro Detroit community members about passing legislation that would allow 400,000 low-income workers to be covered by Medicaid.
Snyder’s office says the state is projected to save $206 million in the 2014 fiscal year by providing Healthy Michigan plan benefits to people now receiving services paid with general fund dollars.
