LENAWEE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) - It’s a deadly wrong place wrong time story out of Michigan and a Lincoln Park family is grieving the loss of a 39-year-old woman. She was killed Saturday in a bizarre camping accident. Mary Hickling did not survive injuries suffered when a maple tree fell on her tent in W.J. Hayes State Park in northern Lenawee County. David Hickling says he is relying on faith to cope with his wife's death.
The initial investigation has determined that the apparently healthy ninety-foot maple tree which fell had been rotted inside, possibly by insects.
