MUSKEGON, MI (WTVB) - Three college students from Norton Shores have made it across Lake Michigan on a paddleboard. Trent and Craig Masselink and their friend, Jennifer Malby arrived on the beach Monday after leaving Sunday from Milwaukee and running into some big waves and stormy weather over the lake.
It took the three just under 24 hours to ride the paddle board the 80 miles from Wisconsin to Muskegon. They took turns paddling, but toward the shore, all three began to row and they had trouble going in a straight line.
The trio traveled across the lake to raise awareness about human trafficking in Uganda and specifically to raise funds for an organization called Restore International.
