DETROIT (WKZO) -- The newly re-designed Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will reportedly get respectable gas mileage for a high performance sports car. General Motors says the vehicle will achieve 29-miles per gallon on the highway and 17-miles per gallon in the city with a seven speed manual transmission.
The vehicle's standard V-8 engine will produce 455 horsepower but has features that will help with fuel consumption. Those include various driving modes the owners can select and a cylinder de-activiation system that has the vehicle run on four cylinders when power is not necessary.
The coupe version of the Stingray is scheduled to go on sale this fall.
