DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford placed his signature on a 3-year contract extension Wednesday. The Lions posted a picture on their Twitter account of Stafford signing the agreement. Various media reported Tuesday that the deal will include the final two years on his current contract and he will make around $76 million over the next five years, $43 million of which is guaranteed. Stafford has spent the entire offseason in Detroit in an effort to set an example for his teammates so the Lions can take a good shot at turning around last season’s disappointing 4-and-12 campaign.
