WILLIAMS COUNTY, OH (WTVB) - Authorities in Branch County were on the alert early today watching the progress of a police pursuit in the Tri-State area, a chase which included a Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputy receiving minor injuries. 3 suspects are in custody in Williams County, Ohio. The pursuit apparently started around 4 a.m. east of Angola when a Sheriff’s Department car was rammed during a traffic stop by a vehicle that was reportedly stolen. That’s when the deputy was hurt. Two of the subjects in custody were reportedly arrested in a field near Edon, Ohio. The third suspect, identified as 22-year-old Chris Ervin of Hamilton, Indiana was apprehended in Bryan, Ohio.
Police aren’t saying if today’s incidents are connected to several stolen vehicle complaints that have been recorded in Steuben and Williams Counties over the last couple of weeks.
