COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - It could be the hottest week of the summer for Branch County but that’s not saying much. Sunday was the first time parts of West Michigan broke the 90 degree mark this year, although the official high for Coldwater yesterday was 87.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Wayne Hoepner says with possible highs in the low 90’s this week, it may be a little uncomfortable but you shouldn’t need to take special precautions unless you are planning strenuous outside exercise. If you’re careful when you head out in the heat of the day, you shouldn’t have any problems. He says they don’t start issuing heat advisories until it gets hotter than this forecast. If you need to be extra busy outside, drink plenty of water, and when you head inside, use the Air conditioner or keep the fans running. Some may consider it a heat wave. Others call it beach weather.
