FT WAYNE, IN (WTVB) - A Coldwater man was reportedly driving a car hauling semi last Thursday which sideswiped a disabled semi and killed two men on I-69 north of Ft. Wayne. The Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette identified him as 53-year old Randy Lee Withrow, who according to the newspaper, told police he remembers nothing about the accident. The victims of the crash were 67-year-old Blaine Miller and his 19-year-old grandson Jeff Shelmadine. Two other people were also hurt, one of them critically injured. The collision was near the Union Chapel Road exit.
The Gazette said Withrow was issued a citation for unsafe lane movement but no other formal charges have yet been filed. Miller was the founder of a road service company and he and Shelmadine were active in the auto racing scene in Northeast Indiana.
