GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) - The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has declared that a heat advisory will take effect at noon today for most of the Lower Peninsula, although Branch County is not included.
NWS Meteorologist Ernie Ostuno says that doesn’t mean you have to suspend all your outdoor activities, just be careful when you do. He says as uncomfortable as it may seem today, last summer was worse. Coldwater's official high Monday was 89 degrees
The border counties of Michigan, like Branch, St Joseph, and Hillsdale, are under the jurisdiction of the National Weather Service office in South Bend and are not included in the advisory.
