The Pistons Tuesday held a news conference to officially welcome back guard Chauncey Billups. The 36-year old free agent returns to Detroit with a 2-year deal worth 5-million dollars. Billups played for the Pistons from 2002-2008 and was the NBA Finals MVP when for Detroit when they beat the Los Angeles Lakers for the title in 2004. He was dealt to Denver early in the 2008-09 season and also played for the Knicks and Clippers since leaving Motown. The unpopular trade that sent Billups to Denver brought Allen Iverson to Detroit. Since that transaction nearly five years ago, the Pistons are nearly 100 games under .500 and they’ve missed the playoffs the last four seasons.
