WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO) -- Two Michigan Congressmen couldn't be more ideologically opposed, but they're teaming up.

Michigan Congressmen Republican Justin Amash of Grand Rapids and Democrat John Conyers of Detroit have introduced legislation aimed at cracking down on surveillance by the National Security Agency.  Their bill limits the ability of the NSA and government to spy on Americans not connected to an investigation.

In a statement, the White House calls the bill an effort to "hastily dismantle one of our Intelligence Community's counter-terrorism tools."
