COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Special-interest cars and motorcycles will line Chicago Street and adjacent side streets in downtown Coldwater for the 12th annual “Remember the Alamo Car Cruise” on Saturday, July 27th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The registrants park in the designated areas of town and cruise at their own leisure throughout the event.
the cruiset is hosted by the Coldwater Downtown Business Association and is free for cruisers and spectators. The first 200 registered vehicles receive dash plaques and goody bags. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Northeast corner of W. Chicago and Clay Streets.
“The DBA wants to thank the sponsors for giving car owners and enthusiasts alike the chance to revisit the tradition of cruising in downtown Coldwater and celebrate the old Alamo Drive In on West Chicago,” said DBA Board President Dave Nagle. “This event gives the Coldwater community an opportunity to view up close the great old cars from the good ole days.”
Other activities will take place in the grassy park next to the Coach Eby Youth + Family Center including a chicken barbeque dinner put on by the Coldwater Masons and an ice cream fundraiser held by the Coldwater Kiwanis Key Club. A bounce house sponsored by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust will also be on site there, free of charge and music is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Downtown Coldwater businesses were encouraged to stay open later than their normal business hours as well.
