COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - "The recognition of an individual by an organization for their outstanding contribution as an employee” is the definition of an Employee of the Month. The Community Health Center of Branch County has selected Barb Fee as its Employee of the Month for June 2013, recognizing her as an outstanding contributor and excellent example of what an Employee of the Month is.
Barb was hired in June 1974. She worked as a float in the business office for two years. She then started working in x-ray reception until she transferred to the billing department (Patient Financial Services) to work as a Billing Aide where she has worked for 13 years. According to her nominator, “Barb’s friendly, bubbly personality flows over in all that she does. She is the backbone of the billing office, keeping daily business on track. She is dependable, is the first one to greet our customers, and always has a smile for everyone. On occasions when we have system or process problems she is always willing to adjust her schedule for the benefit of the department. Her terrific sense of humor and positive attitude make her a pleasure to work with. Barb’s dedication to the department and to CHC is outstanding. She is an excellent candidate for the Employee of the Month award.”
Barb graduated from Hillsdale High School. She is married to Ron, who is retired from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities. They reside in Coldwater. Barb enjoys knitting and sewing, quilting, and traveling, and she attends the United Methodist Church in Coldwater. Barb is also involved with the Circle of Friends program at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
The Patient Financial Services department provides services of billing and collecting payment for charges incurred for services rendered to patients of CHC. Services include the professional services of the Family Medicine Clinic, CHC Pediatric and Adolescent Center, Cancer Center, Infectious Disease, and Behavioral Health, as well as facility services including inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, cardiac rehab, physical/occupational and speech therapy, diabetic and medical nutritional education.
The CHC Employee of the Month program is open to all full-time and part-time employees with six months of continuous employment. Each Employee of the Month receives a special sweatshirt, parking privileges for one month, an Employee of the Month certificate, his or her picture displayed near the cafeteria, Tibbits theater tickets, lunch with his or her administrative representative, and the privilege of serving on the Employee of the Month Committee. Each Employee of the Month for the year is then eligible for Employee of the Year, which includes recognition at the annual Employee Recognition Banquet, parking privileges for one year, gift certificates, a jacket, and his or her picture displayed near the cafeteria.
