Enbridge continues dredging on Kalamazoo River

The Kalamazoo RIver
The Kalamazoo RIver

MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) - Dredging has resumed on the Kalamazoo River as Enbridge is playing beat the clock with the EPA to remove submerged oil by the end of the year.  During this particular part of the job in the aftermath of the massive 2010 spill near Marshall, a 12-mile stretch of the river upstream from the Ceresco Dam is being shut down.

Enbridge revealed at a hearing last week in Comstock that dredging has to be completed by the end of the year...or before the first serious freeze and that the dredged materials could be piled up and dried at their processing areas well into next year.
