COLUMBUS, OH (WTVB) - Buckeye fans are sweating a few less bullets with word that suspended Ohio State star running back Carlos Hyde will not be charged with assaulting a female at a nightclub earlier this month. Columbus police say they are closing the case after the alleged victim decided not to pursue charges. Hyde had been named a person of interest in a police report filed by the 19-year-old woman.
Head coach Urban Meyer says Hyde will miss at least the first three games of the season after the incident. Hyde scored 17 touchdowns to help lead the Buckeyes to a 12-and-0 record last fall.
