COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Gas prices jumped to way over $4 per gallon on Saturday, to $4.15 a gallon in Branch County and at many area gas stations. Gas Buddy.Com says the 35-cent a gallon jump is due to problems at a refinery somewhere in the region. As soon as Gas Buddy issued warnings that the spike was coming, motorists began lining up at stations still selling gas at the previous price. They say it may take a week for prices to take a significant fall, although in Coldwater, a few stations have backed off to a couple a pennies below four dollars. In the meantime, they suggest you just buy what you need until the problem is resolved.
