Tony Stewart snapped a 30-race winless streak by capturing the checkered flag at Sunday's FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway. Stewart passed Juan Pablo Montoya for the lead with three laps to go at the "Monster Mile" to win his first race of the season and the 48th of his career. Montoya finished second followed by Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski. Now at the midway point of the 26-race regular season, Jimmie Johnson maintains a 30-point lead on Carl Edwards in the Sprint Cup Standings. Next on the schedule is Sunday’s Pocono 400 and then in 2 weeks, NASCAR returns to Michigan International Speedway, highlighted by the June 16th Father’s Day Quicken Loans 400.
On the Indy-Car circuit yesterday, in the second Detroit Grand Prix race of the weekend on Belle Isle, Simon Pagenaud of France took the checkered flag for his first IndyCar victory. The first race on Saturday was won by Englishman Mike Conway.
