The smell of alcohol was heavy in the air late yesterday morning at the scene of a fatal semi-tractor trailer crash along I-94 near the 11-mile Road exit in Calhoun County, but it wasn’t because the victim was drinking. It was because the truck driver from Ontario was hauling a load of beer eastbound when he lost control, went through the median and over both westbound lanes and drove into the woods on the other side of the highway. The driver was reportedly ejected from the cab. His name has not been released.
