COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Downtown Coldwater can expect a huge crowd on Saturday, June 15 for the annual Strawberry Fest and Craft Show. This year’s event will once again feature a full slate of entertainment at either end of the festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saxophone player Randall Hazelbaker will entertain with notes of jazz in the southwest corner park next to the Museum Gallery.
Four musical performances will take place in front of the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center at the west end of town. Performing at 10 a.m. is Shanneen, a talented local vocalist who loves to sing R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Blues songs. At 11 a.m. is Maria Hostetler, a young vocalist from Bronson, Michigan, who is full of energy and performs pop, country and classic songs. Megan Young alongside Kennedy Kiersey are singing at 12 p.m. This sisterly dup has a youthful energy with Young playing guitar and Kiersey putting her own spin on vocals. Following is Aleix Noelle, an aspiring country artist from Quincy. These performers will each play a 45-60 minute set.
“Festival goers will be able to stop and enjoy local talent in between perusing the vendor booths throughout the day,” said Dave Nagle, DBA President. “Bring lawn chairs or sit at the picnic tables and enjoy a set or two while eating lunch.”
Food and beverage vendors will be conveniently located next to both stages for the event. Over 120 local strawberry producers, merchants, crafters, church groups, civic organizations, and more will have booths set up on either side of Chicago Street in downtown Coldwater from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Products range from lawn and garden decorations, wooden creations, pottery, jewelry, beauty supplies, and many more unique handcrafted items.
The Strawberry Fest is sponsored by Infinisource, Monarch Community Bank, Southern Michigan Bank and Trust, Century Bank and Trust, and Bath Fitter.
