HOWELL (WKZO) -- U.S. Representative Mike Rogers of Howell has decided not seek the U.S. Senate post being vacated by Senator Carl Levin. Rogers was seen as a top Republican candidate but has decided to continue his role in the U.S. House which includes Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
Rogers said he was "truly humbled by the encouragement" he received. He was first elected to the U.S. House in 2000 and has served as a state senator, and was an agent with the FBI.
Levin announced earlier this year he would not seek another term in the Senate.
