Play was suspended by darkness Thursday in the first round of the U.S. Open Championship. Luke Donald is through 13 holes at four-under to own first place at rain soaked Merion Golf Club in suburban Philadelphia. Phil Mickelson is finished with his first round and is three-under, tied with this year's Masters champion Adam Scott, who is through 11 holes. Tiger Woods is two-over par through 10 holes. Play was halted twice yesterday totaling over four hours due to the wet weather.
