COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Coldwater School District wraps up the school year Friday with a half day of classes for all students.  An important event at the end of the academic year in Coldwater is the naming of the Legg Middle School winners of the Axner S. Olson Citizenship Award and they are Eric Bach and Emma Grife.  Candidates were selected based on student nominations and votes from both students and staff at LMS.  Characteristics such as leadership, fairness, helpfulness, and an overall positive attitude were considered in the voting process.

This year the committee chairs were Diane Moyer and Deb Wilkinson. The late Axner S. Olson devoted over 30 years to the education profession as a teacher and principal and was instrumental in the planning and development of Legg Junior High School and served as its Principal from 1967 until his retirement in 1972.
