Dingell's longevity celebrated in Washington

Congressman John Dingell

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- Who knew a Michigan Democrat could get an Ohio Republican to choke back tears in the U.S. Capitol?

That's exactly what happened Thursday at a celebration of the career of Detroit Congressman John Dingell, now the longest-serving member of Congress in history.  House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio got a bit choked up talking about the man from the other side of the aisle that he says he counts as a friend.

The event unified politicians and featured Supremes founding member Mary Wilson singing "Stop! In The Name Of Love" with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
