WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) - The U.S. House Tuesday approved a controversial abortion bill. The Republican measure would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Seventh District Michigan G-O-P Representative Tim Walberg, who voted in favor of the measure, said every year, over 1.2 million unborn children die at the hands of abortionists, suffering excruciating pain. Walberg, added, “As a father and grandfather, this sickens me”. He said more needs to be done to protect the lives of women, babies, and the unborn and prevent such atrocities that go on behind closed doors.
The bill has no chance of passage in the Democratic-led Senate and faces a veto threat from President Obama. Democrats accuse Republicans of continuing to threaten women’s reproductive rights.
