LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Governor Rick Snyder has cut his trade mission to Israel short in a last ditch effort to save the Medicaid expansion bill. It's crunch time with state lawmakers scheduled to begin their summer break after today’s sessions.
Snyder is flying back into Lansing today. After the House passed their version of the bill last week, the Senate went to work on their own version, but try as he might, Senate Leader Randy Richardville hasn’t been able to drum up enough republican votes to get it passed, even with democratic support for the measure. He reportedly asked the Governor to return to help pass the bill.
