GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- A Grand Rapids native is celebrating after she was named one of NASA's eight new astronauts. 34-year-old Christina Hammock will report to the Johnson Space Center in Houston later this year to undergo two years of "intensive training." Hammock currently works at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's climate and atmosphere observatory in American Samoa.
