Since this year’s Super Bowl, 28 NFL players have been arrested. That includes former Lion’s receiver Titus Young, who was arrested 3 times in a one week span. The San Diego Union Tribune keeps a database on league players taken into custody. The focus on problem players was greatly magnified Wednesday when former New England Patriots all pro tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of friend who was a semi-pro football player. The Patriots released Hernandez from the team about 2 hours after he was taken into custody. Also, a Cleveland Browns rookie undrafted free agent linebacker out of Virginia was arrested Tuesday on attempted murder charges.
