Funeral director bill proposed by Kurtz signed by Governor Snyder

Ken Kurtz and Ken Delaney at the State of the State Address

LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Governor Snyder has signed legislation designed by Republican House member Ken Kurtz of Coldwater that will make it easier for families to make arrangements for deceased family members across state lines, by giving funeral directors authority to participate in document signing and removal and transportation of the deceased in states with similar laws. Right now that includes Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Kurtz says when people put their trust and confidence in them to care for their loved ones, they should be able to get it done in a manner that keeps the respect that they would enjoy. Kurtz is a Pastor and a Funeral Director by trade who owned three funeral homes.
