KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- Investigators have a few new answers and let some others leak about the fire at Interfaith Homes that killed three toddlers, but there are still a lot of questions that have been left unanswered.
They have eliminated the furnace, natural gas and the weather as causes. A prominent theory is that something was left cooking on the stove and one of the children put something flammable in the flame and that’s how it spread to the living room. They say it burned for sometime before it was discovered and when a neighbor opened the door to try a rescue, the rush of oxygen blew out the windows.
Still unanswered, how the 4-year-old escaped and where were the adults? Investigators will put it all down on paper, hand it to the prosecutor and they will decide if charges should be filed.
