The Red Wings had the night off. Detroit will play host to the division-leading Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow afternoon at Joe Louis Arena. Chicago last night extended their amazing streak with a 4-3 overtime win at home over the Columbus Blue
Jackets at United Center. The victory allowed the Blackhawks to stretch their NHL record season-opening points streak to 21 games with their record at 18-0-and-3.
Last night in the ECHL at Wings Stadium, Cincinnati was a winner over Kalamazoo 3-to-2. Tonight, the K-Wings play at Cincinnati. And in college hockey, Western Michigan beat Michigan State 5-to-2 with the Spartans hosting the Broncos again tonight. And Michigan defeated Ferris State 4—to-1 with the two teams matching up again tonight at Yost Ice Arena.
