Detroit starter Max Scherzer was sharp in his first appearance of the spring while the Tigers went on to lose on the road to Atlanta 6-to-1 in Grapefruit League action Sunday afternoon. Scherzer, who was slowed at the end of the season by a sore righ shoulder, retired 6 straight batters on just 14 pitches. 

The Tigers, now 4 and 6 in preseason pay, will host the Houston Astros this afternoon in Lakeland.
