UNDATED (WTVB) - AAA says gas prices on average have dipped 1.6 cents in the last week, but the drop here has been more dramatic to as low as 3.69 a gallon after flirting with the $4 mark just a few weeks ago.
The reason for the drop? Crude prices are falling again. Patrick DeHaan at Gas Buddy.com says West Texas Crude has dropped $10 a barrel in just the last few weeks because speculators are cashing out.
He says they could go lower as the Chicago refineries have a close out sale on their winter blends, but they will go right back up when the summer blends are released.
He says these lower prices won’t last so enjoy it while you can.
