KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- Remember this news story from this weekend. An employee at a California Apartment complex for the elderly refusing to administer CPR because it isn’t company policy.
Well the same firm that owns that complex, Brookdale Senior Living, owns five in West Michigan. They own Clare Bridge of Portage and Battle Creek, Wynwood in Portage and Sterling House in Battle Creek. They also manage Freedom Village in Holland.
They all offer different kinds of services and their policies may vary. It’s really up to the patients and their families to read the fine print.
The family of the woman who died, 87-year-old Loraine Bayliss says they don’t plan to sue, saying she chose the complex because they do not resuscitate.
