KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO). Dr. Brian Long, who is based in Kalamazoo, is out with his monthly survey of business activity in the West Michigan manufacturing sector, and after a couple of months of lackluster performance he says things have begun to pick up again on the area’s factory floors. “Nicely up” to use his words. He says almost all the companies that report into his survey saw their indicators increase in February.
He says a lot the uncertainty that gripped the global market place last year has faded particularly in Europe, but also in China. He says as always it’s the auto industry that tells the tale in Michigan and right now that may be the best news of all. Its sales continue to climb.
