LANSING (WKZO) -- The state Senate could soon take up legislation to reform Michigan's no-fault auto insurance system.

Efforts have percolated at the state Capitol for years to change the system, which is the only one of its kind in the nation.  The new legislation caps what is now unlimited personal injury protection coverage at 50-thousand dollars.

Governor Snyder blames the system for Michigan having among the highest car insurance rates in the country.
