Number-10 Michigan State last night was able to keep its hopes for a share of a Big Ten regular season title alive by shutting down 22nd-ranked Wisconsin 58-to-43 at the Breslin Center.
The Spartans had dropped 3 in a row coming in, all too ranked opponents and was seemingly out of the conference title race. But with last night’s convincing win, M-S-U can share the crown if they post a victory at home Sunday over Northwestern and also have Michigan on the same day defeat Indiana at Crisler Center. Keith Appling scored a game-high 19 points for the Spartans last night. Michigan State has won 5 straight against Wisconsin and eight in-a-row over the Badgers in East Lansing.
