COLON, MI (WTVB) - A fire at a bar and Italian restaurant in Colon is being blamed for taking out two other businesses as well. The fire began in the Kitchen of Curly’s Bar and Papa Mancino’s restaurant around noon Friday. The flames spread to Five Star Pizza and the Prudential Insurance agency next door. They haven’t determined the cause yet, but the investigation isn’t expected to begin until Monday. Colon Community Schools actually closed their junior high and high school building at 1:30pm and sent students home, because of a water shortage caused by firefighters' efforts to battle the blaze.
