DETROIT (WKZO) -- A Washington, D.C., lawyer is emerging as the top candidate for Detroit's emergency financial manager position. Kevyn Orr, a University of Michigan Law School graduate, says he can't comment on the speculation.
Orr is a partner in the Jones Day law firm, which was retained yesterday by the city to help with its finances. According to the "Detroit News," a high-level source with knowledge of the decision confirmed that Orr is the leading candidate.
Orr's name emerged the same day that Mayor Bing announced he selected Jones Day to guide the city's financial turnaround.
