COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, the spring schedule for county schools starts today with a pair of indoor events for Coldwater in track and girl’s tennis. In track, it’s the Huron Relays at Eastern Michigan University while in girl’s tennis, the Lady Cardinals compete in the Ramblewood Invitational at Grandville. The MHSAA boy’s basketball Final Four tipped off Thursday at the Breslin Center with the Class C and Class D semi-finals. No Branch County area or Southwest Michigan schools are still in the tournament field. The Class A and Class B semis are today with the 4 championship games on Saturday.
We’ll have live coverage on the radio of the title contests starting with Class D with the broadcast on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning at ten o’clock tomorrow morning.
Today on the Coaches Corner, it’s Coldwater girls tennis coach Ron Ford.
And congratulations to Coldwater High School senior Becca Schott, who signed this week with Bowling Green State University to run Division One track and cross country at the Mid-American Conference school. Schott received both academic and athletic scholarships to pursue her degree in exercise science and a career in physical therapy. At CHS, Schott was a four year varsity runner with her excellence in cross country earning her all conference, all division and all region honors every year in high school. She also was a three time recipient of Division Two Academic All-State honors.
