DETROIT (WKZO) -- Federal Judge Nancy Edmunds has denied a bond request to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. His attorney has made two requests for bond and Kilpatrick's mother offered to put her home up as collateral for the bond.
Edmunds responded to the requests by citing his criminal record and problems with previous parole conditions. Kilpatrick had complained in his latest bid that he was not getting proper treatment for a knee injury.
Kilpatrick is being held in the Milan Prison awaiting sentencing after being convicted of 24 felony charges earlier this month.
