Michigan and Michigan State tonight play their Sweet Sixteen games and they hope to avoid the list of Big Ten teams eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, which will continue without top-seeded Indiana while Ohio State last night was able to survive and move on to the Elite Eight.
Indiana was knocked out by Syracuse in the East Regional semi-finals with the Hoosiers losing 61-to-50 to the Orangemen. Number-two seed Ohio State got a game-winning three-pointer in the closing seconds to get past Arizona 73-to-70 to advance to the West Region finals. Fourth-seed Michigan clashes with top-seeded Kansas tonight in the South Region semi-finals at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington with the tip off set for shortly after 7:30. Then in the late game at Indianapolis at 9:45 in a Midwest semi-final matchup, it will be third seed Michigan State meeting second-seeded Duke. If Michigan and Michigan State can capture regional titles this weekend, they would face each in the semi-finals a week from tomorrow at the Final Four in Atlanta.
