Child discharged from Kalamazoo hospital - mother charged with child endangerment

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Authorities say a 4-year old boy seriously injured in a one car crash in Branch County has been discharged from the hospital while bond for his mother on Wednesday was set at fifty thousand dollars. 26-year old Katie Holbrook of Tekonsha was arrested following the accident late Tuesday afternoon in Butler Township. Michigan State Police say Holbrook was driving a mini-van that ended up in a ditch off Dean Road. The boy’s 2-year old sister was also injured and treated and released from the Community Health Center of  Branch County has been discharged from the hospital while bond for his mother on Wednesday was set at fifty thousand dollars. 26-year old Katie Holbrook of Tekonsha was arrested following the accident late Tuesday afternoon in Butler Township.

Michigan State Police say Holbrook was driving a mini-van that ended up in a ditch off Dean Road. The boy’s 2-year old sister was also injured and treated and released from the Community Health Center of Branch County.  The boy was flown from the hospital in Coldwater to Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment of possible head injuries. The mother was charged with operating under the influence causing serious injury and 2 counts of child endangerment. Holbrook is due back in court for a preliminary exam on May Ninth.
