Coldwater, MI (WTVB) - Fund raisers can be fantastic but they usually aren’t around for a whole lot of years. So what makes the Great Hospice Duck Race so special? The 20th annual Community Health Center of Branch County event is about a month away. Randy DeGroote, hospital President and C-E-O told the CHC Board of Trustees this week that this show of support for hospice in the community continues to be a significant happening, one that is well attended and traditionally raises anywhere from $25,000-$35,000 a year.
DeGroote said those funds go directly to offset costs that would be associated with patient supplies, it doesn’t go to operations. According to DeGroote that are several people on the Duck Race volunteer committee that have been part of the planning effort for the event for all of those twenty years and warrant special recognition. The 2013 Great Hospice Duck is happening on Saturday, June First.
