There were only two playoff games but both provided plenty of drama in a pair of conference semi-final openers. In the East, the Chicago Bulls scored the final 10 points in the night's first game to upset the defending champion Miami Heat 93-to-86 at Miami.

In the nightcap, in the West, the Golden State Warriors appeared to be on their way to another road upset but blew a 16-point lead against the San Antonio Spurs with four-plus minutes left in regulation and then the Spurs escaped with a 129-127 double overtime victory.
