MT. PLEASANT (WKZO) -- A pregnant Central Michigan University student is now serving an eight-month jail sentence for trying to poison her roommate.
The "Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun" reports Kayla Bonkowski apologized to her family and asked her roommate for forgiveness as she was sentenced. Four months of her term will be served under house arrest, as she is 18 weeks pregnant.
If Bonkowski successfully completes her probation and pays 915-dollars restitution to Emily Joseph, her record will be wiped clean.
