LANSING (WKZO) -- A Michigan lawmaker wants to lift the ban on ticket scalping. The proposed legislation would make it legal to sell game or concert tickets above face value.
Republican Representative Tim Kelly says it's common sense to let the free market decide the price of a ticket. The bill would repeal a 1931 state law that banned scalping unless authorized by venue or event operators.
Kelly is advocating the bill as a way to create fairness in the marketplace and provide relief to the overburdened court system.
