COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The first black ice and slippery driving conditions of the season arrived Monday evening in the Branch County area and at least in the county, motorists seemed to have handled it pretty well with only one slide off accident reported so far to Central Dispatch. That happened around eight last night at the off ramp of southbound I-69 at Jonesville Road. The driver hit the guardrail but there were no injuries. A dusting of wet snow that came down for around 4 hours yesterday into the early evening hours also gave us a preview of things to come although very little if any accumulation was reported. The low temperatures this morning proved to be the coldest so far this fall in Coldwater with readings dipping into the lower 20’s.
