QUINCY, MI (WTVB) - A candidate from Branch County has now entered the Republican primary race to succeed term limited 58th district Michigan House GOP State Representative Ken Kurtz of Coldwater. Longtime local businessman and TV personality Tim Hart Haberl of Quincy has filed for the nomination for the seat that covers all of Branch and Hillsdale Counties.
Hart Haberl, who has been involved in community service for over 25 years, says he’s eager to serve the people of the 58th district and will focus on job creation and economic growth while reducing and prioritizing spending in the state budget so taxes can be cut. Hart Haberl is president of Big Buck Pole, LLC and Q1 Broadcasting located in Coldwater and until recently, served as Regional Commissioner of Branch County AYSO Soccer for 15 years with his tenure spotlighted by the construction of the Creal Soccer Complex.
Hart Haberl and his wife Pam have been married for 26 years and they have 4 sons. Other announced Republican candidates for the 58th district State House seat include Hillsdale County residents Brad Benzing and Rochelle Ray.
