HOWE, IN (WTVB) - Three Branch County fire departments were part of as many as 40 fire departments that were called out Saturday night to battle a blaze in northeast Indiana that engulfed the old Campbell Mushroom Farm building near Howe. No injuries were reported as dozens of firefighters including from Coldwater, Bronson, and Lakeland worked to douse the flames at the 330,000 square foot former processing facility in LaGrange County.
The first alarm was turned in around 8:15 p.m. Saturday. The structure sustained heavy damage although firemen were able to save several other large buildings that were threatened. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
