(WNFL) - A curling competitor from Portage has lost his chance to make the 2014 Olympics in Russia. Ryan Brunt was part of Pete Fenson's rink that lost 11-to-1 in four sets to John Shuster's squad. Shuster's rink claimed the U-S men's curling spot at the Games in Sochi. Shuster is from Duluth Minnesota. His three teammates are also from the Gopher State. Meanwhile, two women's curling athletes from Wisconsin are on their way to the Olympics. Erika Brown of Madison and Debbie McCormick of Rio (rye-oh) were part of a four-member rink that won the women's U-S finals on Saturday.
